Mentoring
Supporting emerging professionals
In Time for (S) Heroes, mentoring is approached as a creative partnership that supports emerging designers as they explore digital and sustainable ways of working. Mentors’ experience from international studios and experimental environments offers participants a rich foundation for developing their ideas.
Digital Portal
Everyone has access to the learning materials that open in spring 2026 through the project’s digital portal. These materials are created together with several experts and provide practical guidance, inspiration and exercises that help creatives develop their skills independently and at their own pace.
Design Wave Festival
More hands-on support becomes available during the Design Wave Festival in Riga in November 2026. Multidisciplinary teams participating in the festival’s hackathon will work alongside experts who help them refine their concepts and experiment with new approaches. This stage gives teams an opportunity to test ideas quickly and understand how sustainable creativity can be strengthened in practice.
Open Call
The most intensive mentoring is offered to the teams that succeed in the open call. During the residencies and the following incubation phase, the support is tailored to the needs of each team. This includes targeted feedback, expert consultations and guidance that follows the team’s own development path. The intention is to help participants mature their ideas into strong, coherent concepts that can meaningfully contribute to more sustainable creative fields.
